Course

The Dene Course is a 9 hole course ideal for golfers of all abilities. Beginners are welcome and the dress code is more relaxed than on the Purbeck Course. It has views over Poole and the 9th hole overlooks a wonderful valley with Swanage nesting at the bottom. Visitors playing the Dene are very welcome to use the clubhouse facilities both before and after play. Club hire for the Dene course is available from the Proshop. Please note dress code for the clubhouse.

When you play the Purbeck Course, you'll enjoy a wonderfully traditional course set in an area of outstanding natural beauty; golf the way it was meant to be played!

The first thing that strikes the visitor to the Isle of Purbeck is the spectacular views, looking out over Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island, Bournemouth and the Solent.

Indeed, the fifth tee possesses one of the finest views in British Golf, situated as it is, on a Bronze Age burial ground over 3000 years old. The late Kind Edward declared the view from this point as one of the finest in his kingdom and that opinion is not likely to be disputed by anyone who has had the chance to stand there.

The course is set within a Nature Reserve, designated a site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). One quarter of the world's heathland is in Britain and some of the very best in Purbeck. Dusk brings out the deer from the woodland and the rare Dartford Warbler can be seen amongst the gorse. During the Spring, the gorse is at its best and the late Spring brings forth orchids, many quite rare, whilst buzzards are a common feature overhead.

Each hole is located in its own unique setting, providing magnificent views and challenges. The par 3's are unique in that they each face a different compass point. Consequently, each poses a different challenge based on wind direction.

If you want to post a good score, be prepared for a game of strategy, brains over brawn!

We hope to make your next visit a day to remember.
